BioBenoit Boulet is Associate Vice-President (Innovation and Partnerships) of McGill, former founding Director and Chwang-Seto Faculty Scholar of the McGill Engine Tech Innovation Centre, former Associate Dean of Research & Innovation of the Faculty of Engineering (2014-2020) and a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at McGill University. He was Director of the McGill Centre for Intelligent Machines from 2007 until 2013 and a William Dawson Scholar from 2004 until 2014. Professor Boulet obtained a Bachelor's degree from Université Laval in 1990, a Master of Engineering degree from McGill University in 1992, and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Toronto in 1996, all in electrical engineering. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the province of Québec, a Senior Member of the IEEE, and a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering.
Professor Boulet's research is concerned with finding practical solutions to automation and control problems relevant to sustainability and the energy transition. His main research areas include the control of biomedical systems, robust industrial process control, robust electric vehicle control, renewable energy management systems, and the theory and application of robust control and machine learning. |
